Allahabad HC deals severe blow to Rahul Gandhi and guess....

Guwahati: The Allahabad High Court has shocked Rahul Gandhi by refuting his petition challenging a Varanasi special court order which had accepted a revision petition against him over controversial remarks he made about the Sikh community last year.

Rahul’s plea was dismissed and it will now pave the way for the revision petition to proceed in the Varanasi MP/MLA court.

The case was triggered by Rahul Gandhi’s statement during his three-day US tour, where he allegedly stated that Sikhs in India are not allowed to wear turbans or the kara (steel bracelet) and are not permitted to enter gurdwaras.

"The fight (in India) is about whether a Sikh is going to be allowed to wear a turban...whether a Sikh will be allowed to wear a kara or go to the gurdwara. That's what the fight is about, and it's not just for Sikhs, but for all religions," Rahul Gandhi had said while speaking at an event in Virginia in 2024.

The petition was earlier dismissed by the MP/MLA Court after a hearing.

After that Nageshwar Mishra filed a revision petition in the Varanasi Sessions Court, which h was admitted by the Special Judge (MP/MLA Court) on July 21, 2025.

Rahul Gandhi had challenged this order in the Allahabad High Court, which reserved its verdict on September 3 after hearing arguments from all sides.
