Dimapur: As Nagaland celebrates its Statehood Day on December 1, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Sunday urged the people of the state to reaffirm their shared commitment to peace, development, and unity, saying these pillars will continue to shape the state's future.

In his message on the eve of Statehood Day, Bhalla asserted that the government remains steadfast in advancing these goals through inclusive development, improved connectivity, transparent governance, and opportunities that uplift every citizen, whether in remote villages or expanding urban centres.

Extending his greetings and best wishes to the people, he said Statehood Day is a moment of profound reflection.

He noted that Nagaland has had a remarkable journey since December 1, 1963, guided by the wisdom of pioneers, elders, and leaders whose commitment to dignity and self-governance laid the very foundations of the state.

“Their sacrifices and steadfast spirit continue to inspire us as we work collectively toward a brighter and more harmonious tomorrow,” he added.

Bhalla noted that Nagaland stands at a significant juncture in its continuing journey.

“With sustained peace, cooperation, and dialogue, we can realise our collective aspirations for lasting progress,” he said.

He urged the people to move ahead with renewed purpose—embracing innovation while safeguarding cultural identity, celebrating diversity while strengthening unity, and ensuring that the vision of the founding leaders continues to guide the path.

“As we honour our past, we must also look toward the future with determination,” he stressed.

Bhalla added that it is the collective responsibility of the people to nurture peace, promote sustainable development, empower the youth, and preserve the unique traditions and values that define Nagaland.

“Together, let us build an inclusive, just, and prosperous state for generations to come,” he said.
