Dimapur: The Naga Students Federation (NSF) on Tuesday urged the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances leading to the leakage of question papers of the ongoing Class IX final examination 2025 Phase-II.

In a representation to the NBSE chairperson, the federation demanded that the board impose strict disciplinary measures on any individual, whether staff, institutional head, or other personnel, found to be involved, whether directly or through negligence.

The NSF also urged the board to strengthen protocols and monitoring mechanisms within schools and examination centres to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Appreciating the NBSE for promptly initiating action by issuing a notification on Monday on the deeply concerning incident, the NSF said it was gravely disturbed by the developments as reported across social media and confirmed by the board’s notification.

“Such incidents not only compromise the sanctity of the examination process but also erode the trust of students, parents and all stakeholders in an evaluation system that is expected to uphold fairness, transparency and merit,” the representation read.

Acknowledging the immediate steps initiated by the board, including the continuation of examinations as scheduled, strict confidentiality measures, and the temporary withholding of the results for four subjects, the NSF stressed that decisive and exemplary disciplinary action against those responsible is crucial.

It added that timely and strong action by the board will restore confidence among students and reinforce its credibility in the examination processes.
