NIT Nagaland hosts curtain-raiser for India International Science Festival 2025
Dimapur: The Meteorological Centre, Kohima, held a curtain-raiser at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland on Wednesday ahead of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2025 to promote scientific temper and awareness among science enthusiasts.
The event witnessed participation from faculty members, students, and officials from NIT Nagaland and Meteorological Centre Kohima, an official release said on Thursday.
The IISF 2025 will be held at Panchkula, Chandigarh, from December 6 to 9.
The festival will feature 14 thematic frontiers focused on future technologies, sustainability, and broad scientific outreach, showcasing the theme “Vigyan Se Samriddhi – For Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
During the programme, a brief presentation highlighting the objectives and importance of IISF 2025 was presented by Nalnish Kumar Chaudhary, Scientist-D and Head of Meteorological Centre, Kohima.
A video presentation on IISF 2025 was also screened, providing participants with a glimpse of the upcoming national event at Panchkula.
Manoj E Prabhakar, registrar; P. Chinnamuthu, associate professor; and Jay Chandra Dhar, assistant professor at NIT Nagaland, highlighted the objective and importance of science and technology in everyday life.
Meteorological Centre Kohima showcased various instruments of the automatic weather stations and their functioning.
The curtain-raiser served as a platform to inspire young minds and encourage participation in the forthcoming IISF 2025.
