Nagaland: Three arrested after man dies from repeated beatings in Dimapur
Dimapur: Dimapur police arrested three persons on Wednesday in connection with the death of a man from Nagaland's Yimpang village.
Dimapur DCP (Crime), in a release on Thursday, said information was received that a person identified as Mhathung Lotha of Yimpang village under Nagaland's Wokha district succumbed to injuries at Civil Hospital Dimapur on Wednesday.
The East PS personnel, who rushed to the hospital to ascertain the details of the incident, established that some individuals had brutally beaten the victim and his accomplice following an altercation in the Naga Colony area, Burma Camp, here on November 9.
The release stated that the victim and his accomplice were again forced to visit the residence of the accused persons on November 10, under the pretext of resolving the issue, where they were beaten once more.
Although the victim was taken to the District Hospital in Dimapur, he succumbed to his injuries at around 7 pm on Wednesday, while his accomplice remains admitted in the hospital.
A case has been registered for further investigation.
