Nagaland: NSCN-IM accuses Indian intelligence of propaganda war
KOHIMA: The NSCN-IM has accused the Indian intelligence agencies of conducting a sophisticated social media propaganda campaign against the outfit.
The NSCN-IM alleged that the efforts of the Indian government are aimed at inciting tribal conflicts and destabilize the outfit’s unity.
The NSCN-IM highlighted a “disturbing trend” of provocative articles being circulated on social media platforms, purportedly authored by fictitious Naga individuals.
These articles are reportedly designed to exploit tribal sensitivities and sow discord within the NSCN-IM.
The NSCN-IM mentioned that one such article titled “MUIVAH IS A PROBLEM, NOT THE SOLUTION” was followed by a counter-article, “RENDERING POLITICAL EDUCATION TO ZAVISITUO ANGAMI”, which were both allegedly written under a fake Tangkhul identity.
The NSCN-IM claims that these articles maliciously invoke the names of revered Naga leaders AZ Phizo and Th Muivah to deepen tribal rifts between the Angamis and Tangkhuls.
The outfit denounced this strategy as a “vile manipulation” of Naga history and sentiment.
“The irony is we could see through the carefully considered social media strategy with the filthiest purposes, the most disgusting kind of propaganda that played with the sanctity of Naga national leaders,” a statement from the NSCN-IM read.
Furthermore, the NSCN-IM warned against falling prey to divisive tactics and reaffirmed its commitment to the Naga cause.
“Nagas wouldn’t be naïve enough to be carried away by misleading communal divisive propaganda waged by Indian intelligence agency to erode the NSCN,” the statement added.
