Nagaland launches Plant4Mother plantation drive
Dimapur: Nagaland government launched Poshan Maah 2024 with Plant4Mother plantation drive across the state on Saturday.
In Kohima, social welfare department secretary Martha Ritse led the special plantation drive at the directorate of social welfare where other officers, staff and anganwadi workers participated.
District social welfare and block officers, and anganwadi workers participated in the Plant4mother campaign at the district, block and anganwadi centres across the state.
The Plant4Mother campaign's goal is to create a safer environment for future generations by reducing global warming, improving air quality, and balancing the environment.
The campaign is based on the idea that the bond between a mother and her child is the most precious in the world.
Under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, behavioural change at individual and community level is an important component to achieve the desired goal of suposhit Bharat.
In pursuance of this objective, Rashtriya Poshan Maah is celebrated during the month of September every year.
Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan, Nagaland social welfare department, in convergence with the departments of health and family welfare, rural development – Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission, school education, AYUSH, horticulture, forest and climate change, agriculture and local administration will celebrate Poshan maah 2024 during September.
