Guwahati: The Department of Treasuries & Accounts has officially launched a new e-Pay Bill System in Nagaland, marking a major step toward more efficient and transparent financial management in the state.

Developed entirely in-house and hosted at the State Data Centre, the system replaces the previous e-Pay application.

It is designed to speed up bill preparation, improve processing, and integrate smoothly with other Treasury systems.

Officials say it will reduce manual work and clerical errors, particularly in salary bills, deductions, and GPF contributions, benefiting stakeholders across Nagaland.

A key feature of the platform is its integration with TreasuryNet, eNPS, and the Grade IV e-GPF system, which allows direct import of budget and deduction data for faster bill processing.

The system can automatically generate challans for deductions such as Professional Tax, GPF, and House Tax, supporting Drawing and Disbursing Officers and reducing the risk of human error.

The user interface is designed for quick employee selection during bill preparation, streamlining daily operations for officers handling financial documentation across departments.

The platform aims to ease administrative burdens and improve accuracy in bill-related tasks.

At the launch event at the Directorate, Finance Commissioner Kesonyu Yhome commended the officers and IT team for developing the in-house system.

He called it a proud moment for the state, noting that internal development gives greater ownership and provides a strong foundation for strengthening the state’s financial systems.

Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen first proposed the idea for the e-Pay Bill System during his tenure as Finance Commissioner.

The department spent about six months developing the system, followed by two months of testing to ensure reliability before public release.

During the event, Additional Director Vechiso Chakhesang presented the system’s features and highlighted the anticipated benefits.

The department expects the e-Pay Bill System to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall reliability in bill preparation and payments throughout the state.
