Nagaland launches e-Pay bill system for streamlined finances
Dimapur: Nagaland’s Treasuries and Accounts Department has launched a new e-Pay bill system, marking a significant step in improving the state’s financial management.
Developed entirely in-house and hosted at the State Data Centre, the upgraded system builds on the earlier e-Pay platform. It ensures faster bill preparation, smoother processing and better coordination with other treasury applications.
The system is integrated with TreasuryNet, eNPS and the Grade IV e-GPF system, reducing manual work and minimising clerical errors in areas such as salary bills, deductions and GPF contributions.
Officials said the platform is more user-friendly, allowing quicker selection of employees during bill preparation and automatic generation of challans for deductions like professional tax, GPF and house tax.
Budget details and certain deduction data will now be drawn directly from TreasuryNet, streamlining the work of Drawing and Disbursing Officers across the state.
Launching the system, Finance Commissioner Kesonyu Yhome congratulated the officers and IT team for building the platform within the department. Calling it a proud moment for Nagaland, he said an in-house solution provides greater ownership and a strong foundation for strengthening the state’s financial systems.
The new e-Pay bill system is expected to make bill preparation and payments more efficient, accurate and reliable for stakeholders throughout the state.
