Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, in collaboration with the Tourism Department, hosted the ceremonial stone-pulling ceremony at Touphema village in Kohima district on Friday, with Union Communications and DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia as the chief guest.

The ceremony is a major event of the ongoing Hornbill Festival.

Scindia, in his address, said the stone-pulling ceremony was not merely a task for the participants but embodies the union of body, mind, soul, heart, and spirit.

He thanked Rio and the people of the state for inviting him to this important ceremony of Nagaland.

In commemoration of the Hornbill stone-pulling, a cultural extravaganza was held at Touphe Phezou Resort, where Rio extended his warm greetings to Scindia and thanked him for being part of the festival.

Meanwhile, the fifth day of the Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village in Kisama on Friday showcased a vibrant array of traditional performances.

The day highlighted the cultural diversity and heritage of Nagaland, drawing visitors into the traditions, history, and communal spirit of the tribes, featuring rich cultural presentations by various tribes.
