This included 363 international visitors, 5,314 domestic tourists, and 16,831 local residents.

On the second day, the festival drew 18,010 visitors, among them 341 foreign travelers, 4,893 tourists from other Indian states, and 12,776 people from within Nagaland.

The event, which showcases Naga tribal traditions through cultural performances, crafts, and indigenous sports, has grown into a major tourist attraction in the region.

Officials expect the turnout to increase as the festival continues.

Ireland’s Ambassador to India, Kevin Kelly, who attended the opening as the country partner representative, remarked that the cultural presentations were impressive and full of energy.

He said the large group of young performers showcased the breadth of Naga heritage, and he hoped the exchange would encourage more young Nagas to explore opportunities in Ireland.

The Hornbill Festival remains a significant platform for showcasing Naga culture and facilitating international cultural exchange, helping establish Nagaland as a notable destination for heritage tourism.
