Nagaland govt appoints IPR department as nodal agency to ease live event approvals
Dimapur: The Nagaland government on Thursday designated the Information and Public Relations Department as the nodal department for implementing the framework for the development and promotion of the live entertainment economy in the state.
Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen, in a notification, said the department will work closely with all relevant line departments to consolidate approval processes and improve the overall ease of conducting live-event business in the state.
The notification aligns Nagaland with the national agenda outlined in the white paper “India’s Live Events Economy: A Strategic Growth Imperative.”
The department has been entrusted with coordinating the state’s efforts to strengthen and streamline the live entertainment and events sector.
This includes facilitating the development of a supportive ecosystem for promoters, creators, event managers, and cultural stakeholders engaged in live events across Nagaland.
A key mandate under the notification is the integration of state-level event permissions into the proposed single-window clearance system on the India Cine Hub Portal, ensuring faster, more transparent, and efficient facilitation for organisers.
This move reflects the government’s commitment to professionalise Nagaland’s growing creative and cultural industries, encourage investment, and unlock new economic opportunities.
It further marks a significant step toward positioning Nagaland as an emerging destination for high-quality cultural, entertainment, and live events while empowering local talent and strengthening the state’s creative economy.
