Nagaland: Four arrested in Wokha over alleged sexual assault of 15-year-old

Dimapur: Four persons have been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in Nagaland’s Wokha district.

Wokha SP T. Relo Aye on Friday said the arrests were made following a written complaint received on November 10.

The four arrested persons have been identified as Chumlanthung Y. Humtsoe (26), Zurenthung R. Odyuo (19), Zuchanbemo Felix (29), and Khyothungo Yanthan (21).

The SP said that during the investigation, another person, Myinthungo Humtsoe, was identified as being involved in the case, and he is currently absconding.

He added that efforts are on to arrest him.

As per the complaint, the incident occurred on November 4, when the accused Zurenthung R. Odyuo allegedly sexually assaulted the minor along with two of his accomplices.

A case has been registered at the Wokha Women Police Station.
