Nagaland: CM Rio tables departmental reports, Economic Survey and new bills in Assembly
Dimapur: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Monday presented the annual administrative reports for 2025–2026 of several departments during the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, which resumed after a five-day recess at the Assembly Hall in Kohima.
The Chief Minister also introduced bills aimed at strengthening governance and development in the state.
The annual administrative reports presented by the Chief Minister covered departments including municipal affairs, underdeveloped areas, employment, skill development and entrepreneurship, labour, soil and water conservation, animal husbandry and veterinary services, personnel and administrative reforms, election, urban development, and excise and prohibition.
He also laid before the House several policy documents, including the State’s Economic Survey 2025–26, the Nagaland Agriculture Policy 2025, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Plan, and the Incident Response System (IRS) guidelines.
The House witnessed the introduction of two government bills by the Chief Minister — the Nagaland Town and Country Planning (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2025, and the Nagaland Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
Rural Development Minister Metsubo Jamir tabled the annual administrative report for 2025–2026 of the Rural Development Department. Public Health Engineering and Cooperation Minister Jacob Zhimomi presented the reports of the Public Health Engineering and Cooperation departments. Horticulture Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse tabled the annual administrative report of the Horticulture Department before the House.
