Nagaland students' body urges govt to extend age limit for job applicants

Guwahati: The Central Nagaland Students' Association (CNSA) has thrown its weight behind the Concerned Aspirants Group's (CAG) demand for age relaxation for government job applicants affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press release, CNSA president R. Sunep Pongen and general secretary Anoka H Zhimo appealed to the government to raise the maximum age limit to 37 years, citing significant disruptions caused by the pandemic.

The pandemic led to widespread lockdowns, business closures, and recruitment delays, impacting millions of individuals nationwide.

Many aspiring candidates found their efforts halted or postponed due to unprecedented circumstances, resulting in them being unfairly penalized for crossing the age limit through no fault of their own.

The CNSA stated that the government had responsibility to acknowledge these unique circumstances and provide relief.

They urged immediate action to provide age relaxation for all government job applicants, ensuring fair and equal opportunities. Additionally, they called for a review of recruitment policies to account for pandemic-related disruptions, preventing future unfair disadvantages.
