DIMAPUR: The Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) has asked the Mao community people residing in the Angami jurisdiction in Nagaland to return to their respective native villages, as per customary law.

The organisation alleged that the Mao Council has failed to vacate and withdraw the Manipur security forces deputed at the disputed Kezoltsa at “their behest with ulterior motive”.

SAPO president Tepul Hopovi and general secretary Swelul Pucho, in a release, on Wednesday said the action was necessitated to deescalate pent-up tension and prevent untoward incidents and for the safety of Mao citizens living under the Angami jurisdiction.
