Nagaland: Kohima Municipal Council raises pork price

KOHIMA: Starting from Thursday (February 29) until further notice, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) in Nagaland has increased the price of pork from Rs 300 to Rs 350 per kilogram within its jurisdiction.

T Lanusenla Longkumer, the administrator of KMC in Nagaland, issued a notification urging all butchers to strictly adhere to the guidelines set forth by the council.

The KMC has instructed all butchers to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards, wear appropriate aprons, ensure timely renewal of their trade licenses, maintain proper shop signboards, and refrain from selling pork above the fixed rate.

Additionally, there should be no differentiation in pricing between local and non-local or dressed pork categories within the council’s jurisdiction.
