Nagaland: Former Lok Sabha MP Tokheho Yepthomi quits NDPP
KOHIMA: Former Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi, has quit Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).
Yepthomi resigned from the primary and active membership of the ruling NDPP in Nagaland.

Notably, on June 04, the Congress party scripted history by winning the lone Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland after a gap of 20 years, according to the election commission of India (ECI).
Congress, which does not have any MLAs in the Nagaland assembly, saw its candidate S Supongmeren Jamir defeat his nearest rival, Chumben Murry of the NDPP, a BJP ally, by a margin of 50,984 votes.

Jamir polled 4,01,951 votes, while Murry received 3,50,967 votes.
Independent candidate Hayithung Tungoe Lotha garnered 6,232 votes.
