Dimapur: Nagaland Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer has been selected as a member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region’s executive committee.

Longkumer was selected as a CPA executive committee member during the two-day 10th Commonwealth CPA India Region conference held in New Delhi’s Parliament House from September 23.

The CPA executive committee, headed by the Lok Sabha, comprises six-seven members selected from amongst the speakers from across the country.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla delivered the inaugural address at the conference which saw the participation of the presiding officers and secretaries of all the state legislatures in India. 

Nagaland Assembly Deputy Speaker S Toiho Yeptho and secretary in-charge Khruohituonuo Rioalso also attended the conference.
