Nagaland: 15 students injured after bus carrying them skids off road

Guwahati: A bus with students from the St. Joseph’s College in Nagaland’s Jakhama fell off the road after dashing against a tree between Kisama and Kigwema leaving at least 15 students injured.

Around 20 students were travelling on the bus when it met with the accident

All the injured students were soon rushed to the Army Hospital in Jakhama besides other hospitals in Kohima.

Four students were later shifted to the Naga Hospital Authority in Kohima from the Army Hospital.

The accident took place on Wednesday noon when the bus was on its way to state capital Kohima to drop the students.

Police said the driver of the bus lost control while trying to overtake a vehicle and dashed against a tree and fell off the road.

Authorities at the St. Joseph’s College said the bus was not owned by the college and it was privately operated.
