GUWAHATI: Are more setbacks in store for the Assam unit of the Congress party?

At least two senior Congress workers have decided to show their full support to Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, irrespective of the party’s stand.

Assam Congress MLAs Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha and Basanta Das have decided to extend their support to CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

It may be mentioned here that Congress MLAs Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha and Basanta Das met and felicitated Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday (February 14).

“Two MLAs of the Assam Congress – Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha and Basanta Das – have decided to support the welfare policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
