The Sairang-Kawnpui section, which underwent repairs between July and August, has once again fallen into disrepair, making it nearly impassable for heavy vehicles transporting critical supplies.

As of Sunday morning, the official reported that 339 trucks carrying goods to Aizawl were stranded at Kawnpui, while 264 empty trucks bound for Assam were stuck at Khamrang.

He also noted that authorities released over 500 Assam-bound trucks from between Sairang and Khamrang on Saturday after assessing the road conditions.
