The operation was carried out on May 26 at AOC Veng locality in Lawngtlai, following specific intelligence inputs received by the security agencies.

During the raid, officials recovered 9.807 kg of methamphetamine tablets, estimated to contain around one lakh tablets in total.

The accused have been identified as Lalrammuana (47) and Lalrinpuia (44), both residents of Aizawl’s Armed Veng neighbourhood.

Authorities also seized a Mahindra Bolero vehicle, which was allegedly used to transport the narcotics consignment.

According to preliminary investigations, the methamphetamine tablets were brought from Aizawl and were allegedly meant for distribution in Lawngtlai when the accused were intercepted by the joint enforcement team.
