Mizoram: Myanmar national arrested with 3.4 kg heroin

Aizawl: Acting on a tip-off, a special branch of CID seized 3.4 kilograms of heroin worth Rs 1 crore at Selesih near Aizawl, Mizoram.

A police source said that a Myanmar national identified as CT Liana (25) was arrested with the suspected heroin.

He is a resident of Tahan in Myanmar.

The seized heroin was recovered from a scooter driven by the accused at Selesih, the police said. 

The contraband was concealed in 311 soap cases.

The accused was remanded to police custody for 72 hours by a court for questioning, the police said.

The police said that seized items had a local market value of Rs 1 crore.
