Guwahati: A man from Mizoram has reportedly gone missing near the Assam-Mizoram border.

According to reports, the 38-year-old man identified as Lalnunmoiya has gone missing under mysterious circumstances near the Frenchnagar-Vairengte area in the Cachar district.

He is a resident of Kawngthar, Vairengte of Mizoram.

He left home on Wednesday at 9 am to gather some herbs and vegetables in the forested area but since then has been reported missing.

His family members filed a missing complaint on Thursday but there has been no trace so far.

He was last seen wearing a blue jersey, pants, cap, and slippers, his family said.

His family members and Young Mizo Association (YMA) representatives appealed for assistance from the police as well as the public in locating Lalnunmoiya.

YMA members said that they have been searching border areas, including Frenchnagar, Khulicherra, and Shingua, since Wednesday evening.
