Mizoram government approves 4% DA hike for state employees
Guwahati: The Mizoram government has approved a 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for its employees, effective from November 1, a senior official said on Tuesday.
The move was decided during a council of ministers meeting chaired by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, the official added.
With this revision, government employees will now receive 44 per cent of their basic pay as DA, up from the previous 40 per cent.
The cabinet has also sanctioned an additional 2 per cent hike, raising the DA to 46 per cent of basic pay starting April 1 next year, he said.
"Although it is good news for state government employees, we are still behind employees of the central government, who receive around 53 per cent of their basic pay as DA," the official told PTI.
The last DA increase in Mizoram was in October 2023, when it was raised from 36 per cent to 40 per cent.
The council of ministers also approved a special incentive allowance for police personnel and staff at the assistant sub-inspector level and below who are serving on deputation with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
