Mizoram: Crackdown on illegal migrants, 1187 workers found without ILP
AIZAWL: Mizoram police, in collaboration with the central young Mizo association (CYMA), conducted a comprehensive state-wide operation on Tuesday (March 12) night aimed at identifying and apprehending illegal migrant workers.
The joint effort resulted in the detection of 1187 individuals who were found to be residing in Mizoram without possessing the required inner line permit (ILP).
Subsequently, these individuals were handed over to various police stations across Manipur for further processing.
The breakdown of distribution is as follows: Aizawl PS - 284, Bawngkawn PS - 311, Vaivakawm PS - 76, Kulikawn PS - 97, Zonuam PS - 245, Sairang PS - 6, Lunglei PS - 62, Champhai PS - 46 (including 6 minors), Saitual PS - 47, Serchhip PS - 4, Khawzawl PS - 4, and Mamit PS - 5.

The CYMA has issued a stern appeal to all construction workers, companies, and contractors to ensure that their employees possess the requisite work permits.
Stressing the importance of obtaining an inner line permit (ILP) for non-residents planning to visit or work in Mizoram, the association underlined the necessity of compliance with local regulations.
