Mizoram: Assam Rifles seizes Heroin worth Rs 9.6 crore, Myanmar national held
AIZAWL: A Myanmar national has been apprehended by troopers of the Assam Rifles along the India-Myanmar border in Mizoram with a huge quantity of narcotics substance.
The Myanmar national was held by the Assam Rifles personnel during an operation conducted at Zokhawthar village in Champhai district of Mizoram near the Myanmar border.
The operation led to the recovery of 1.3 kilograms of Heroin valued at Rs 9.6 crore, as confirmed by an Assam Rifles official on Thursday (March 07).
A 35-year-old Myanmar national was apprehended for possessing the smuggled contraband, which was concealed in 100 soap cases.
The seized heroin and the arrested individual were subsequently handed over to the Mizoram police in Zokhawthar for further legal proceedings.
