ECI issues directives for removal of officials in Mizoram and other states

AIZAWL: The election commission of India (ECI) has issued directives for the dismissal of the secretary of the general administrative department in Mizoram, citing undisclosed reasons.

The secretary, whose identity remains undisclosed, is required to resign from the position with immediate effect.

Furthermore, the ECI has ordered the removal of home secretaries in six states, namely Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Additionally, secretaries of the general administrative department in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh have also been ousted.

Moreover, the election commission of India (ECI) has taken steps to dismiss the director general of police (DGP) of West Bengal.

Mizoram is scheduled to hold polling for the Lok Sabha elections on April 19, during the first phase.

The total voter count in Mizoram stands at 8,61,277, comprising 4,14,777 males, 4,41,520 females, and 4980 service electors.
