Mizoram: Heroin, areca nuts, foreign liquor worth Rs. 1.4 cr seized

Aizawl: Personnel of Assam Rifles have recovered heroin, Burmese areca nuts and foreign-origin liquor in Champhai, Mizoram.

The consignment altogether is worth Rs. 1.4 crore.

Sources said that it was seized in a series of operations in Champhai, Mizoram during the past two days.

The operations were carried out at Hmunhmeltha and Zokhawthar villages near the Myanmar border by a joint team of Assam Rifles, Mizoram police and Custom preventive force based on specific inputs.

The entire consignment worth Rs 1.4 crore has been handed over to the police and Customs preventive force in Champhai for further legal proceedings.
