Mizoram express willingness to host 2032 National Games in state

Guwahati: The Mizoram government has expressed its willingness to host the 2032 National Games in the Northeastern hill state.

Mizoram Sports Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar on Thursday (August 29, 2024) conveyed to Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju the state’s keenness to host the mega sports event in 2032.

On the other hand, Hmar informed Rijiju that Mizoram is nurturing young athletes and sportspersons to take park and represent India in the 2036 Olympics

Hmar also informed that a two-day sports conclave was organised in the state’s capital Aizawl on June 13 and 14 this year for the same.

The Union Minority Affairs Minister informed Hmar that he will explore avenues for including projects in a bid to develop sports and skill development in Mizoram under his ministry.
