Key projects in Meghalaya include tourism facilities at Laitlyngkot in East Khasi Hills, the Seng Khasi Ri Raid Laban Cultural Complex in Shillong, and a G+4 commercial building at Iewdak Laban Municipal Market for agricultural, handicraft, and floriculture products.

Education infrastructure also benefited, with new school buildings funded across several locations.

Urban improvements received attention too, covering pipeline upgrades, public toilets, waste management, street lighting, and beautification of Iewduh Market.

Road upgrades, including the Shillong city–Umroi Airport route, were funded under the NESIDS (Roads) scheme, improving connectivity for 10 villages and about 7,300 residents.

The NEC also allocated Rs 26.47 crore to regional agencies across the Northeast for kiwi orchards, banana tissue culture, pig breeding, high-tech horticulture nurseries, GI registration of crops, fisheries, and integrated agriculture projects.

Research support included 5G applications and sustainable management studies of Sone Beel. Non-project activities covered youth cultural exchanges, festivals, handloom fairs, women empowerment programs, sports, academic workshops, and AI-enabled digital training.

Additionally, the NEC completed a Model Handloom Production Centre at Marngar in Ri-Bhoi district at a cost of Rs 1.43 crore, aiming to revive traditional handloom practices, enhance women’s skills, and boost market competitiveness of Meghalaya’s handloom products.
