Meghalaya: Vehicles of Delhi-based road construction firm set on fire
SHILLONG: In a disturbing incident that took place early on Thursday (June 27) morning in Meghalaya, unidentified miscreants set fire to multiple vehicles, including an excavator, belonging to the Joint Stock Company Industrial Association, a Delhi-based road construction firm currently operating in West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.
The attack occurred around 4:15 AM near the company's employee quarters at Nongstoiñ in Meghalaya, as confirmed by Satesh Kumar, the project manager overseeing operations of the company in the area.
“We were alerted to the incident when our employees noticed the vehicles ablaze,” Kumar stated.
The vehicles damaged in the attack include a Maruti Gypsy, a Bolero Pickup, and a Mahindra XUV, along with an excavator.
“Our team extinguished the fire, resulting in minor damages to the vehicles. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported,” Kumar added.
Meanwhile, investigations are underway to apprehend the perpetrators behind the arson attack.
