Meghalaya: Sanbor Shullai urges Assam CM to intervene in transport dispute
Shillong: BJP leader and MLA, Sanbor Shullai has condemned the All Assam United Motor Transport Association's alleged threat to halt transportation to Meghalaya.
He termed the move "objectionable" and against the spirit of Northeastern states' brotherhood.
Shullai appealed to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to take suo moto cognizance of the matter.

The dispute arose from the All Khasi Meghalaya Tourist Taxi Association's demand to restrict Assam tourist taxis in Meghalaya.

Shullai suggested amicable resolution through mutual understanding, citing successful models in Sikkim and Darjeeling.
As Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation chairman, Shullai further claimed that improving local tourist facilities and services was necessary to boost tourism in the state.
