Shillong: G K Iangrai, former Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Meghalaya Police, claimed that the FIR filed against former Director General of Police (DGP) Lajja Ram Bishnoi for alleged misuse and tampering of his vehicle's registration number plate is only the "beginning".

Iangrai claims to have gathered substantial evidence through RTI queries, pointing to a larger web of corruption and wrongdoing.

Iangrai expressed his determination to take legal action, despite feeling isolated in his fight against powerful individuals within the system. "Fighting the big giant is difficult, but I am still strong in fighting back," he stated.

The former AIG alleged that he and his family continue to face harassment, but remains confident in his ability to prove the allegations in the proper forum.

The Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has postponed the hearing on Iangrai's complaint of human rights violation at the Sadar police station until November.

Iangrai refused to divulge further details until the commission's proceedings.

This development follows the registration of an FIR against Bishnoi for using a fake number plate on his Kia Carnival, sparking controversy within the Meghalaya police department.
