Meghalaya: KSU members arrested in connection with deaths of non-tribals in Ichamati
SHILLONG: The police in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya have apprehended at least two individuals affiliated with the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU).
The two KSU activists from the students’ body’s South Khasi Hills district unit of Meghalaya, have been held in connection with the death of two non-tribal individuals at Ichamati on March 24.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Samborlang Shati and Meshadap Sohpen.
Both of them were taken into custody by the Meghalaya police on Monday (April 01), reports stated.
Initially detained at the Sohra police station, the two suspects were subsequently transferred to Shillong Sardar police station in Meghalaya on Tuesday (April 02) morning.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway.
