Applications are invited for recruitment of various teaching positions or jobs in NIT Meghalaya.

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of Professor of Practice jobs or positions from Reputed Industries and R&D Institutions, to promote excellence and leadership in teaching and research as well as to facilitate wider and deeper interactions of NIT Meghalaya faculty, students, and researchers in all the specialization across all departments.

Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates should have reasonable (minimum 15) years of technical, managerial, or professional experience.

They should have at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering/ architecture/design/medicine or master’s degree in sciences/Humanities/Management/ Education/Law or related fields.

Ph.D. is desirable but not essential.

Depending on the years of experience, the person may be offered the position of Professor/ Associate Professor/Assistant Professor of Practice.

Retired persons from industry/ R&D organisations also will be considered.

Professor of Practice posts are not open for those who are in teaching profession.

Honorarium: Consolidated amount, mutually agreed between the Institute and the Expert.

Selection Procedure :

All positions shall be appointed by the Director based on the recommendations of the duly constituted screening cum selection committee.

All are short term contract positions only, initially for a period of 01 (one) year, extendable for a total period of 03 (three) years, or up to the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

The extension shall be based on performance and on the recommendation of the committee.

Reputed scientists, engineers, physicians, civil servants, technocrats, financial experts, entrepreneurs, architects, managers, experts in media, literature, fine arts, legal profession, public administration, armed forces, designers and other professionals, can be considered for the above faculty positions based on the eligibility as mentioned above.

Director has the right to consider applications of exceptionally good candidates not falling in the above-mentioned criteria.

Persons appointed as Professor of Practice will have no right or claim for regular appointment or continuation of the post in NIT Meghalaya, other than the terms specified above.

The Director has the right to terminate the positions at any stage, under extreme circumstances
