During the hearing, Dr N Mozika, representing the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), emphasized the need for more clarity on technical aspects of the project, such as the earth-cutting requirements and associated costs.

He suggested that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) provide detailed information from its technical experts.

The Advocate General, A Kumar, and Amicus Curiae, P Yobin, concurred with Dr Mozika, acknowledging the project's complexity and the importance of precise information.

The bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice HS Thangkhiew and Justice W Diengdoh, adjourned the case to September 24. All relevant officials have been directed to be present at the next hearing to provide the necessary clarifications.

A copy of the report will be shared with the Advocate General and Amicus Curiae before the next hearing.

The court's ongoing scrutiny of the Shillong Airport development project aims to ensure safety and efficiency in the infrastructure improvements.
