Meghalaya: CM holds public consultative meet in Tura, reviews civic issues

Guwahati: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Friday held a CM Connect Public Consultative Meeting in Tura.
Citizens, community representatives, and various stakeholders came together to share their concerns, suggestions, and development aspirations for the town.
The discussions during the meeting focused on a wide range of civic and urban issues.
These included improving urban infrastructure, strengthening public safety systems, enhancing waste management practices, upgrading street lighting, and ensuring better access to government services for citizens.
The Chief Minister said the CM Connect initiative is aimed at building a governance system that is more responsive, transparent, and rooted in continuous engagement with the people.
He added that the initiative ensures public feedback directly shapes development priorities.
He also shared updates on the CM Connect 1971 grievance redressal system and informed that the government is planning to establish CM Connect offices across all 56 blocks in Meghalaya.
The objective is to bring services closer to citizens and ensure faster and more efficient delivery of public services. Sangma said good governance begins with listening to the people.
He thanked all participants for actively contributing their views and suggestions, adding that the government remains committed to working towards a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant Tura.
