Meghalaya: Def Leppard announces three-city India tour 2026, kicking off in Shillong
Shillong: BookMyShow Live has announced that British rock band Def Leppard will headline a three-city India tour in March 2026, with the first show scheduled for Shillong on March 25 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Polo Grounds).
The band will then perform in Mumbai on March 27 at Jio World Garden and Bengaluru on March 29 at NICE Grounds.
Ticket sales for the tour will open to the general public at 12 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, exclusively on BookMyShow.
Confirming the tour, lead vocalist Joe Elliott said the band was looking forward to performing in India. “Playing for our fans in India is thrilling for us. We can’t wait to see you soon,” he said. Guitarist Phil Collen added that the long-awaited visit would be “an incredible night for all the fans.”
Naman Pugalia, Chief Business Officer – Live Events at BookMyShow, described the tour as a significant moment for India’s rock scene. He said bringing Def Leppard’s first full-scale headlining tour to the country reflects the growing appetite for major international acts and marks a new phase for live entertainment in India.
The India tour is part of Bandland On Tour, an extension of BookMyShow Live’s rock and alternative music property, Bandland, which aims to expand large-format rock shows across the country.
Def Leppard, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, have been one of the most influential rock bands for more than four decades.
Known for hits such as Rock of Ages, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Animal and Foolin’, the band has sold more than 110 million albums worldwide and earned two RIAA Diamond Awards. Their albums Pyromania and Hysteria remain among the best-selling rock records of all time.
The band’s most recent global tour in 2023 included sold-out shows across Europe, including Wembley Stadium, as part of a two-year run with Mötley Crüe that drew more than 2.1 million fans across 27 countries.
Def Leppard also released Drastic Symphonies in 2023, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. The album debuted at No. 4 on the UK charts, marking the band’s best UK chart position in over three decades.
The Shillong leg of the India tour is supported by Meghalaya Tourism, with The Circus as the event partner.
