SHILLONG: The Meghalaya government is planning to rejuvenate and beautify the Wah Umkhrah waterfront.

This was informed by Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma.

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma said that rejuvenation and beautification of Wah Umkhrah waterfront is aimed at transforming urban spaces across the state.

Estimated at Rs 39 crore, the beautification initiative seeks to enhance the aesthetic appeal and sustainability of urban areas in Meghalaya.

CM Sangma announced that work on the waterfront project is set to commence soon.

“This project will cover the waterfront, including the surrounding circles and amenities,” the Meghalaya CM stated.

“Without a clean river, beautification alone won't suffice,” he added.
