Meghalaya: Truck driver loses control, crashes into shop leaving one dead in EKH

Guwahati: A truck travelling from Mawblei towards Madanrting in East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya met with a devastating accident, leaving one person dead and another injured.

Around 10 pm, the driver lost control of the vehicle (ML05R9977) near a curved section of road by the Madanrting police station.

The truck careened into three vehicles, a scooter, and a pedestrian before finally crashing into a shop.

The truck's helper died at the scene.

The driver, unharmed, claimed the brakes failed, causing him to lose control.

The helper's body was retrieved on Sunday and sent to NEIGRIHMS for autopsy.

Both the deceased and the driver hailed from Goalpara, Assam.
