Meghalaya: NEHU Vice Chancellor elected to prestigious ACU executive council
Shillong: North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has achieved a significant milestone with the election of its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, as an Executive Council member of the prestigious Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), United Kingdom.
Prof. Shukla expressed his honor and excitement, stating, “Being elected to the ACU Executive Council is a privilege and a testament to NEHU’s commitment to academic excellence.”
The ACU, a network of over 550 universities across the Commonwealth, plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advocacy for higher education.
As a council member, Prof. Shukla aims to strengthen NEHU’s international partnerships, promote research and development, and enhance the overall quality of education.
A key focus for Prof. Shukla is to leverage this platform to advance the goals of India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, particularly in terms of internationalization.
He also plans to integrate innovative technologies and best practices to address contemporary challenges in higher education.
