Meghalaya: Four more arrested in March 09 Shillong IED blast case, explosives recovered

SHILLONG: In a significant development following March 09 IED blast in Shillong, the Meghalaya police have apprehended four additional suspects.

The arrests took place late on Monday (March 10) night, with the accused individuals nabbed from Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya.

The arrested suspected were allegedly involved in the explosion at Syndicate Bus Station near Them Mator in Shillong city of Meghalaya on March 09.

According to reports, the police in Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya, in collaboration with the East Khasi Hills police, conducted a joint operation resulting in the arrest of four individuals – two from Umsning and two from Nongpoh.

During the operation, a substantial amount of explosives was seized from their possession.

Information obtained from sources suggests that the arrested individuals were allegedly planning another bomb blast in Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi.

Authorities in Meghalaya have intensified efforts to locate and apprehend any remaining suspects believed to be associated with the blast.
