Meghalaya: Two suspected dacoits lynched in Garo Hills

TURA: At least two men, suspected of being involved in several dacoity cases, were allegedly lynched by an angry mob of villagers in Garo Hills of Meghalaya.

The incident has been reported from Rangsakona area in South West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya on Sunday (February 04) night.

Officials and personnel of the Garobadha police outpost received information about the incident and immediately rushed to the spot.

The police, upon arriving at the site of incident, found three men being subjected to severe assault and detained by the mob by the roadside.

The trio were rushed by police to Garobadha primary health centre hospital for treatment, where two of the men succumbed to their injuries.

On the other hand, one of the three men survived the assault and is currently being treated at the Tura civil hospital.

The deceased persons have been identified as: Balen G Sangma (30) and Sken D Shira (30).

Meanwhile, the lone survivor has been identified as Betuwel D Shira (22).
