Meghalaya CM mourns demise of IFS officer N Luikam

SHILLONG: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma has mourned the sudden demise of Indian Forests Service (IFS) officer N Luikam.

Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma paid tributes to the deceased IFS officer at the latter’s residence in Shillong.

“Sad to bid farewell to IFS officer N Luikam, who passed away this morning. My deepest condolences to his family, well-wishers and friends.”

He said: “As chief conservator of forest, he served the state of Meghalaya with utmost dedication and sincerity. His untimely demise is a loss not only to his family but to the entire department of forest and environment.”

It may be mentioned here that senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer N Luikham was found dead on Wednesday (March 13) at his residence in Shillong city of Meghalaya.

N Luikham, an IFS officer, serving as the chief conservator of forests for the Meghalaya government, reportedly died by suicide on Wednesday (March 13) morning.

Luikham was found dead at his residence near Lady Keane College in Shillong city of Meghalaya.

Luikham, a 2003 batch of the Indian Forest Service (IFS), allegedly took his own life around 7:30 AM on Wednesday (March 13), according to police sources.
