Guwahati: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Kongkal Sangma on Friday held a meeting with officials of the concerned departments and discussed the need to maintain the cleanliness of the streams and rivers passing through different localities in Tura.

The handle of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Channel in X wrote, “Following the visit to the Ganol catchment area yesterday, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today held a meeting with various development committees of Tura town. The focus of the meeting was on the need to maintain cleanliness of the streams and rivers passing through different localities.”

It added, “Meghalaya Assembly Speaker and North Tura legislator, Thomas A Sangma, also attended the meeting. The Chief Minister urged the development committees to sensitize the public about using designated areas for waste disposal.”

Additionally, the Chief Minister suggested that the municipality provide residents with alternative waste disposal options and install CCTV cameras to deter the illegal dumping of waste into streams and rivers.
