Meghalaya chief conservator of forests found dead in Shillong

SHILLONG: A senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer was found dead on Wednesday (March 13) at his residence in Shillong city of Meghalaya.

N Luikham, an IFS officer, serving as the chief conservator of forests for the Meghalaya government, reportedly died by suicide on Wednesday (March 13) morning.

Luikham was found dead at his residence near Lady Keane College in Shillong city of Meghalaya.

Luikham, a 2003 batch of the Indian Forest Service (IFS), allegedly took his own life around 7:30 AM on Wednesday (March 13), according to police sources.

Following the incident, Luikham's body was transferred to the Shillong civil hospital in Meghalaya for post-mortem examination.
