Meghalaya: Cattle smuggling attempt thwarted, 132 rescued

Guwahati: A team of Border Security Force (BSF) and Meghalaya police, seized 132 cattle and apprehended three people involved in cattle smuggling near the international border in South Garo Hills district.

Acting on intelligence, troops from the 100th Battalion of BSF conducted a raid in a jungle area.

Sources said that the team raided an area close to Cherengpara village.

During the operation the team rescued the cattle destined for illegal transport to Bangladesh.

The rescued cattle and apprehended individuals were handed over to the local police.
