Thongam Biswajit Singh, MLA of Thongju Assembly Constituency, Imphal East, led the public in offering floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda on the occasion.

Speaking at the programme, Th. Biswajit briefly outlined the life and contributions of Swami Vivekananda and highlighted his core teachings of self-reliance, discipline, and truth as essential values for building a strong India. He asserted that the observance of National Youth Day was not meant merely for remembrance but for meaningful action.

Biswajit also spoke on Swami Vivekananda’s humanitarian service and humanistic philosophy, which continue to inspire generations. He reflected on Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts on youth as a bridge between a glorious past and a grand future. The MLA further emphasised that the destiny of the State and the nation lies firmly in the hands of the youth. Quoting Swami Vivekananda’s call, “Arise, Awake and Stop Not till the Goal is reached,” he asserted that the message is not merely a slogan but a lifelong philosophy, the practice of which can lead to success in life.

Recitation of the Shanti Path, devotional geet presentations, speeches highlighting the significance of the day, distribution of spectacles to selected beneficiaries, and chanting of the Shanti Mantra were the main highlights of the event.
